Art Program
The Art program is aimed at offering a creative outlet to clients already attending Multicap and to local special schools. The philosophy behind the Art program is to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to communicate and express themselves through participating in the process of art-making.
Art is an important language to all of us; it lets us give a greater depth to our ability to communicate. The objectivity of language can be too literal for some of our clients and art can be a more ‘hands-on approach’ to communicating. The fundamental principal of the Art Therapy process focuses on the creative process rather than the finished artwork and offers people with disabilities the opportunity to further to develop skills, interests and competencies across all areas of their lives.
Monte Lupo believes that people with disabilities deserve the opportunity to communicate and express themselves. The benefits of Art Therapy include – but are not limited to:-
- physical dexterity
- social awareness
- personal expression
- physical/mental stimulation
- improved communication
- beneficial for healing rather than for creative results
The Art Therapy facilitator focuses on identifying each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Programs can be tailored to fit individual and group needs upon request for optimum satisfaction. Special School bookings can be made on request.
Pricing - $13.42 per day must provide own staff to assist or $55 per day if Multicap is to provide staff assistance
